Trainee Registered Manager

From our staff team of 4 Shift Leaders, Wisteria House Offers the option to one Shift Leader to train as a Trainee Registered Manager.  This will involve completing a LMS Level 5 and growing in your working role in Management and Leadership skills.  You will be able to review Care Plans and Risk Assessments and will be given training in writing extensive Care Plans and Risk Assessments.  You will have hands on experience in all areas of management to later cover management weekend working in charge, sickness and holiday cover.  You will have support and experience from the Registered Manager.  You will report to the Registered Manager.

Shift Leader / Deputy Manager

(also know as Senior Care or Team Leader in other care homes).

You will be a part of a small team of Shift Leaders, of which there will be 1 shift leader on at any time caring for 21 residents with Dementia.  Your main responsibilities will be to administer, order, store and audit medications.  Coaching and guidance to the care staff team.  Take lead responsibilities for the home at weekends.  Telephone the manager of concerns during the weekend.  Assist with outside professions i.e. District Nurses, Doctors, Ambulance crew, etc.  Report to the Registered Manager.

Quality of Life

You will be part of a small team of Quality of Life staff, of which there will 1 on shift from 8am to 9pm (split Shifts) seven days per week, improving the Quality of Life for 21 people living with a Dementia.  Your main responsibilities will be to offer relationship care, independent stimulation, group activities, sensory stimulation, trips out, themed parties, and have a good understanding on how to reduce anxiety an stress for a person living with a Dementia (training given).  Reporting to the Registered Manager.

Care Staff - Days

You will be a part of a team of Care Staff, of which there will be 2 care staff on duty from 8am to 8pm (can be split), seven days per week, caring for 20 elderly people living with a Dementia, working alongside the Shift Leaders and Quality of Life staff.  Your main responsibilities will be to offer relationship care and assistance with day to day personal care.  This will include the use of manual handling equipment and complete relevant documentation within your role.  Reporting to the Shift Leader or Registered Manager.

Waking Night Manager

You will be a part of a team of Night Staff, of which there will 2 night staff on from 8pm to 8am, seven days per week, caring for 21 elderly people living with a Dementia.  Your main responsbilities will be to offer relationship care and assistance with day to day personal care.  This will include the use of manual handling equipment and complete relevant documentation within your role.  Administer and record medications relevant to night time care.  Coach and give guidance to the waking night staff on duty.  Write and review Care Plans and Risk Assessments relevant to care during the night.  Assist with any emergency outside professionals - District Nurses, Doctors, Ambulance, Funeral Directors, etc.  Write a rota for the night staff team.  Complete Supervision with the night staff team.  Complete once a month an unannounced inspection during the night.  Reproting to a Shift Leader or  Registered Manager.

Care Staff - Nights

You will a part of a team of Night Staff, of which there will 2 night staff on from 8pm to 8am , seven day per week, caring for 21 elderly people living with a Dementia.  Your main responsibilites will be to offer assistance with day to day personal care.  This will include the use of manual handling equipment and complete relevant documentation with your role.  Reporting to the Night Staff Manager or Registered Manager.

House Keeper

You will be a part of a small team of House Keepers, of which there will be 1 House Keeper on 6-8 hours per day, seven days per week, within a building that has 4 lounges and 20 bedrooms, split across 3 levels.  Your roles involves general cleaning, relationship care to the people living in the home which can involve supporting a few individuals living with a Dementia who enjoy cleaning their own room.  Complete any records relevant to your role.  Reporting to the Registered Manager for Compliance.

Cook

You will be a part of a small team of Cooks, of which there will be 1 cook on duty 8-10 hours per day, seven days per week, for 21 elderly people living with a Dementia and approximately 9 staff during the day (plus any requests form night staff team of meals to be put back).  Your role involves preparing, cooking a choice of 2 meals (one being a healthy option), and one that can be a soft meal option, plus a choice of 2 puddings.  Frequently preparing themed party food, buffets, etc.  You will need to be flexible to allow for people's dietary requirements.  Complete any records relevant to the kitchen (fridge temperatures, etc).  You will report to the Registered Manager.

Maintenance / Gardener

You will be involved with all aspects of Maintenance.  Complete all audits/records relevant to your role.  Call out trades that we regularly use and when necessary organise and seek quotes from various contractors when required.  You will need to keep tidy a small grassed area with raised borders and water plants.  You will need to be flexible and will be willing to support elderly people living in the home with a Dementia who are productive in nature (i.e. sweeping paths, watering plants, etc.).  You will need to be supportive of the whole staff team, i.e. the kitchen staff may need an item of food urgently, when they have unexspectantly run out of.  You will report to the Registered Manager.
